Isn’t life a journey! It’s amazing the life choices one makes that ultimately lead them into the life that surrounds them

In 2001 Tammy met Bryce in the beautiful city of Saskatoon, Sk. Bryce worked as an Emergency Medical Technician in Saskatoon and Tammy was an Emergency Medical Dispatcher. It was often the joke that Tammy told Bryce what to do and where to go everyday….and Bryce would tell you that not much has changed over the years. Bryce eventually began employment with other branches within the emergency services field and Tammy began her company, EarthWear Face and Body Products – specializing in making natural skin care and bath products in small batches.

The company grew until it found a permanent home at the Saskatoon Farmers Market. Bryce’s career eventually helped facilitate the move to Cranbrook, BC. It was during this time that both Tammy and Bryce realized that life was passing them by without fulfilling one of their last goals: to be able operate a business in the beautiful Kootenay Region of British Columbia. In 2017 Bryce and Tammy sold their home in Cranbrook and purchased The Yahk Soap Shop and Two Scoop Steve in Yahk, BC

They changed the name to The Yahk Soap and Candle Co and renovated Two Scoop Steve to include a small soup and Sandwich bar. In 2021 Bryce retired early, deciding that the business, as well as Tammy, needed his full time attention. They are happy to introduce for the summer of 2021 the addition of 10 000 sq foot Market Garden open to the public to purchase fresh grown vegetables as well. In addition to the garden, an outdoor grill and deep fryer were added to the property to serve up freshly grilled burgers and crispy fries.
